Echocardiography

Ultrasound imaging of the heart, structure, function, and valves in one non-invasive study.

30–45 minutes

Overview

An echocardiogram uses safe, radiation-free ultrasound to build a real-time picture of the heart. It is used to assess chamber size, wall motion, ejection fraction, valve disease, fluid around the heart, and suspected congenital issues, and to monitor known conditions over time. At CURE-CARE, studies are performed with attention to image quality and clinical question; reports are prepared for your referring clinician with the measurements and impressions they need for decisions on medication, further tests, or referral.

What you can expect

  • No radiation, safe, repeatable follow-up
  • Assesses pumping function, valves, and chamber size
  • Useful for breathlessness, palpitations, murmurs, and hypertension follow-up
